Where are we? And what's happening?
The first person to guess correctly will win lunch with me -- I'll buy yours and you'll buy mine.
Remember, leave your brief guess as a comment on this blog post but don't try to give the entire back story (that's my job).
I'll have the full scoop on Thursday.
Setting a stone column at Busch Gardens on the Arroyo?
ReplyDeleteLooks like an asian loong (dragon) climbing up a pillar. I'm going to guess something to do with the building of the Pacific Asia Museum. A wild guess, as usual.
ReplyDeleteKevin Masser: The late Frank Lloyd Wright visits a building site such as Millard House or elsewhere in the area?
ReplyDeleteThey're lowering the cornerstone to the Pacific Asia Museum
ReplyDeleteThe ground looks rather rough for the site of the Pacific Asia Museum, though I guess it could be. The man in the apron looks Japanese, so I'll make a wild guess - perhaps he's building of the Storrier-Stearns Japanese garden? There's no dragon like that there now, so I expect I'm wrong.
ReplyDeleteMy guess would have been something to do with the Huntington, but I've never seen anything like this there.
ReplyDeleteI must not have posted properly, because I guessed Storrier-Stearns. But Bellis should win in any case, as I'd never have seen this place if not for her.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that this happened to you, altadenahiker. I've posted a correct solution in the past that never appeared. Perhaps we've been captcha'd by the captcha? Even if the answer isn't Storrier-Stearns, everyone should take a look at this lovely place.
